FIVE players from the PGA EuroPro Tour will win places at the Failte Ireland Ryder Cup Challenge following the forthcoming event at Marriott Sprowston Manor.
It has been confirmed that the top four players in the Order of Merit following the Norfolk tournament in early July will win a place in the Challenge Tour event.
They will be joined by the winner of the Marriott Sprowston Manor event in heading to Killarney from 28-31 July.
Australian John Wade’s second placed finish at The Doncaster Open ensured his involvement in the tournament, increasing his earnings to £28,467.50.
Phil Worthington, who won The Swallow Challenge recently, sits second in the standings at £14,768.67, with Lee Rhind’s victory at The Doncaster Open lifting him to third place at £14,325.
Australian Daniel Gaunt sits in fourth place on £12,820, with Robert McGuirk, Andrew Marshall and Michael Welch hot on his heels.
Daniel Greenwood and Mark Smith, who like Gaunt have yet to claim a winner’s cheque despite consistently finishing among the leaders, will also be hopeful of breaking into the top four over the next two weeks.
Their first chance will come at Stoke by Nayland this coming week before the tour moves on to Norwich’s Marriott Sprowston Manor.
