THE PGA EuroPro Tour’s visit to Collingtree Park in May will be the first of two events at the venue to showcase some of the best golfing talent of both the past and present.
Collingtree Park will host the fifth event of the 2005 PGA EuroPro Tour from 25-27 May as the World’s leading developmental golf tour heads to the Northampton course for the first time.
Three weeks later, the same venue will host the PGA European Seniors Tour’s Mobile Cup, which will include the likes of Sam Torrance, John Morgan and Eamonn Darcy.
Collingtree Park is a former British Masters venue, with Torrance winning at the venue in 1995 before Robert Allenby claimed victory 12 months later.
Torrance, the European Ryder Cup captain in 2002, was one of a number of high profile golfing names to back the PGA EuroPro Tour ahead of the 2005 season.
“Everyone deserves a break in their chosen career and golf is no different,” said the Scot. “The developmental tours are just that break for the potential stars of tomorrow.
“The PGA EuroPro Tour is a real golfing environment enabling those who want to be the best to test their skills and find out if they have the guile, stamina and determination to compete – I know, I was there once.”
