JAMES CONTEH, the son of former boxer John, shares the lead after the opening round of the Sky Sports Qualifying School for the 2005 PGA EuroPro Tour.
Conteh completed his delayed opening round at Frilford Heath in 70 shots, meaning he shares the lead with West Hove’s Russel Cronin at -3.
South African Ryan Stopford was one of four players who shot 71 to sit one stroke behind, while New Zealander Clarke Osbourne was among the chasing pack, with 25 players scoring par or better.
At Wynyard, Bobby Young took an early led during the second round, following up a level par opening round with a 67 to end on -5.
Anton Haig was a shot behind, and Welsh amateur Alex Smith – who scored -3 for his two rounds – was among 31 players to beat the expected cut of +4.
