Former PGA EuroPro Tour man Rhys Davies won his second event on the Challenge Tour in Spain at the weekend to all but secure his European Tour card for 2010.
Davies, who appeared on the EuroPro Tour in 2007, secured a one shot victory in the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana in the Canary Islands and now sits in sixth spot on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit and following his play-off win in the SWALEC Wales Challenge in July, he has all but secured his European Tour card.
The Welshman is two places ahead of Nicolas Colsaerts who has appeared in several EuroPro Tour events in 2008 and 2002, while John Parry (pictured), who finished tenth on the 2008 EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, is in 24th spot with six events left – with the top 20 getting their European Tour cards.
On the Challenge Tour in the US, Matthew Richardson finished in third spot in the Mexican Open in Mexico, after finishing in 22nd spot in the 2008 EuroPro Tour Order of Merit.
