EuroPro Tour heads to Portugal

July 21st, 2008

The players on the Ivobank PGA EuroPro Tour pack their bags and get their passports out as the Tour hits mainland Europe this week for the first time in 2008 – with Oceanico’s Millennium and Victoria courses Vilamoura in Portugal the destination.

We’re past the halfway stage in the Tour now and the Order of Merit is beginning to take shape. Noel Fox (Team Ireland -MMI) consolidated his lead at the top of the pile at The Players Club in Bristol, finishing tied in second place in Bristol to boost his earnings to £18,970.00, £3,000 clear of Alan Murray (Greystones GC) who finshed in a three-way tie for fifth spot in Bristol.

The Players Club winner, Dale Marmion trails the Irish duo in third, with the £10,000 he won catapulting him up the list but Dale will not being playing in the Algarve, opening the third spot for a number of players in the top ten.

Oceanico’s Victoria course is Portugal’s premier golf venue and the Arnold Palmer-designed track will host the Portugal Masters for the second year running in October.

Live scoring for this week’s tournament in Vilamoura begins on Wednesday morning.
