Former PGA EuroPro Tour player David Dixon won the Saint-Omer Open on the European Tour at the weekend.
A faultless final round of 66 gave Dixon a one shot victory at five under par and his maiden European Tour title, a remarkable turnaround after he ended Thursday’s opening round nine shots off the lead. Rounds of 67 and 69 put him tied sixth for the final round where he pipped overnight leader Christian Nilsson to the €100,000 prize. Dixon played on the EuroPro Tour in 2002, finishing second in the Formby Hall Challenge, and he also played events in 2003 and 2007.
Seve Benson (pictured), who won this year’s opening EuroPro Tour event at Wensum Valley, finished tied fourth at two under while John Morgan, Tour Championship winner in 2002 and double tournament winner in 2006, finished tied tenth.
