Ford blitzes back nine at Masters

Ford blitzes back nine at Masters

September 25th, 2008

Matthew Ford collected six birdies in the final eight holes in the final round of the Masters at the La Cala Resort to take the lead in the clubhouse.

Ford (Marriott Tudor Park, pictured) was three under going into the final round and had picked up two birdies and a bogey before playing the 11th, where his fantastic run to shooting 65 began. The 30 year-old won the last event on the Tour at Five Lakes in Essex three weeks ago and a victory today should catapult him to the top of the Order of Merit.

Matthew was playing with Colin Roope ( who had a similarly impressive round, with just one fewer birdies on the back nine in his 66 – taking him to nine under for the tournament.

There are still plenty of players out on the course with an interest in winning the Masters – to follow the action live, click on the Score Updates link on the homepage.
