Formby Hall in Merseyside is the destination for the ninth stop of the EuroPro Tour season.
Action is hotting up in the race for the top five spots in the Order of Merit that will guarantee them spots in next year’s Challenge Tour.
Chris Hanson and Graeme Clark are the only players to be guaranteed of a top five finish, but they will still be among the entrants aiming to win another £10,000.
Each of the top ten players in the Order of Merit will be playing in what promises to be one of the toughest competitions of the campaign.
That means four other event winners in 2011 – Jamie Abbott, Paul Reed, Stuart Archibald and Duncan Stewart – will also be in the field, while James Busby continues his record of playing in every tournament this year.
Local player Tommy Fleetwood is one of the joint favourites as he is priced at 12/1 with SkyBet.
Fleetwood, 20, represented Great Britain and Ireland in the 2009 Walker Cup and also finished as runner-up to Daniel Gaunt in the 2010 English Challenge on the Challenge Tour.
Scotland’s Scott Henry, a player who has gained substantial experience on the Challenge Tour, is also priced at 12/1.
Other prices include Busby and Hanson at 16/1, Clark at 18/1, while Abbott is one of three players listed at 20/1.
