Former PGA EuroPro Tour player Robert Rock picked up the biggest paycheque of his career in the Irish Open after losing in a play-off to amateur victor Shane Lowry at Baltray.
Rock, who played on the EuroPro Tour in 2002, 2003 and 2005, lost out after a bogey on the third play-off hole, but pocketed the €500,000 first prize cheque due to Lowry’s amateur status. It was his second runners-up cheque in as many weeks after he finished in a three-way tie for second at the Italian Open in Torino last week.
On the Challenge Tour, John Parry and Lloyd Kennedy (pictured) finished well at the ALLIANZ Open Cotes d’Armor Bretagne in Brittany. Parry finished three shots behind the winner in third place while Kennedy finished in sixth – both players won on last year’s EuroPro Tour, with Kennedy finishing third in the Order of Merit and Parry in tenth.
