JONATHAN BARNES took victory from the Frilford Heath leg of the Sky Sports Qualifying School for the 2005 PGA EuroPro Tour.
The South Winchester hopeful ended his second round a shot clear of Craig McCollum, his final score of -5 being aided by a 68 after opening with a level par round.
Haywards Heath golfer McCollum hit a six-under-par 67 for his second round to take second place, while Francis McGuirk, Michael Searle and Martin Sell ended on -3.
Six amateurs were among the 64 players to qualify for Stage Two with a total of +6 or better, with Scott Thompson taking the final spot with a birdie on the first play-off hole.
Justin Brown hit a six iron to within a foot of the flag on his way to securing the second reserve spot, with Jack Bircham taking the fifth alternate place.
New Zealanders Clarke Osborne and Alex Tait, South African Ryan Stopford and Dutchman Ralph Miller led the overseas contingent in qualifying for next week’s second stage at Bedford and Pavenham.
