TWO more former EuroPro Tour stars will be playing alongside the golfing elite on the European Tour next season.

Daniel Gaunt, who played in seven EPT events this year, finished seventh on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit to secure his promotion.

Gaunt’s story should act as an inspiration to all golfers on the EuroPro Tour.

He was on the European Tour in 2004 but then lost his Tour Card and has been battling to get back ever seen.

Gaunt won the first EuroPro Tour event of 2010 at Wensum Valley, Norfolk and then produced an amazing run of form that also saw him finish twice on two occasions and third three times.

This series of results saw him start playing on the Challenge Tour and he took full advantage by winning their English Challenge at Stoke-by-Nayland, Essex.

Gaunt then produced another fine run as he finished in the top 30 on the Challenge Tour in nine of ten competitions.

A second-placed finish at last week’s Apulia San Domenico Grand Final in Italy clinched his European Tour Card for next season and Gaunt is delighted to be back in the big-time.

He said: “The goal at the start of the week was to climb into the top ten of the Rankings, and I’ve comfortably achieved that.

“So while I’m obviously disappointed I wasn’t able to see the job through in Italy, I’m also excited at the thought of getting back on to the main Tour.

“I definitely feel my game’s good enough to win out there, but talk’s cheap – I’ve now got to go out there and prove it.”

Scott Jamieson is another man who has EuroPro Tour experience and has now taken the biggest step forward in his career.

Jamieson came top of the EuroPro Tour Order of Merit in 2009 after recording victories at Prince’s Golf Club and Wychwood Park.

Seven finishes inside the top 20 on this year’s Challenge Tour has helped him to come 14th on their Order of Merit and claim a European Tour spot
