The final tournament of these three PGA Europro Tour events begins at the scenic Palmares Course, on Tuesday 10th June.
The Pro Am, held on Sunday 8th, gave a taste of the level of scoring to be expected. Gareth Davies, from Abbeydale, scored a 66. This was closely followed by David Walker and John Wells with 68’s and Michiel Bothma from Pretoria, South Africa with a 69. The team event was won by Graeme Storm and his team of amateurs: Luis Palma, Mario Silva and Joao Madeira, who recorded a score of 124.
The Palmares Course is in excellent condition and the brilliant blue skies provide perfect visibility for the magnificent views enjoyed from the site. The first showing of the previous events will begin with the Quinta da Ria Tournament, being shown on Sky Sports on the 10th and 11th June.
The hot, dry and relatively windless conditions will allow these talented players to attack this demanding course. With immaculate greens and a strong field, low scores can be expected. 146 players will compete, from 14 different countries, as separated as Australia and Iceland.
