A MONSTER test awaits the future stars of golf at the latest event on the PGA EuroPro Tour, the Swallow Challenge at Farleigh Court.
The Surrey course is the longest in Europe at over 7,500 yards, producing a difficult challenge for even the biggest hitters.
Inder van Weerelt goes into Wednesday’s opening round having scored the best individual round in the Pro-Am with a three-under-par 70.
The winning Pro-Am team featured PGA EuroPro Tour managing director Eddie Hearn alongside Radio One DJ Spoony and Savile Row designer William Hunt and pro David Fisher.
“It’s a very tough course,” said Hearn. “After such a high-quality tournament at Heydon Grange last week, this is a big test for the players.
“Although the course will favour the long hitters, you also have to be straight because the rough is punishing.
“The greens are in great condition so it’s about hitting fairways and greens and taking your chances on the putting surfaces.
“It will be a very good all-round player who takes the £10,000 cheque this week.”
