Tyrrell Hatton (Harleyford Golf Club) and Jack Senior (Heysham Golf Club) are tied for the lead six shots ahead of the field after the second round of play at the final stage of Qualifying School for the 2012 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour.
Hatton hit three birdies on the last four holes at Frilford Heath to card a 65 but the 20-year-old from Marlow could have held an outright lead had he not double-bogeyed the par-three 16th. Senior matched his opening day’s score of six under with five birdies on his front nine to join Hatton at the top of the leaderboard.
Paul Cutler (Portstewart) moved into contention with six birdies on the back nine taking his score to six under, a five-shot improvement on his overnight card and he is now tied for third with John Gallagher (Swanston).
Overnight leader Tommy King (Red Golf Management) suffered with double bogeys on the third and 18th to finish his round three over, leaving him tied for fifth with Ruaidhri McGee (Golfhub), Mark Smith (Erewash Valley Golf Club) and Nick Pateman (Red Golf Management) on five under.
The top 114 players and ties have progressed to Friday’s final day, with the cut being made at five over par.
The final round begins on Friday morning and live scoring will appear on this website. Regular updates from Frilford Heath will be posted on the official PGA EuroPro Tour Twitter page, www.twitter.com/PGAEuroProTour
