The three-day event will be played over The Morgans Course, a par-73 6,461-yard track. Designed by former European Senior Tour player John Morgan, the course is a true test of accuracy with tricky dogleg fairways, plateau greens and water hazards.

The signature hole is the superb 292-yard par-four fourth, which is played entirely downhill with fantastic views of the course and the dramatic coastline on which Hunley Hotel and Golf Club lies.

After 13 events the Tour has seen 13 different winners, leaving the all-important Order of Merit closer than ever.

The top 60 golfers following the Sweetspot Masters will be invited to November’s Tour Championships at Woburn, after which the final Order of Merit top five will be rewarded with a Challenge Tour category for the 2013 season.

Hunley Hotel and Golf Club made its PGA EuroPro Tour debut hosting the final main-season event of the 2011 season. American Dodge Kemmer was victorious on that occasion, shooting a combined score of nine under par for his 54 holes to win by five.

Following their successful sponsorship of The Sweetspot Classic at Longhirst Hall recently, Sweetspot are one again supporting the PGA EuroPro Tour and its players with sponsorship of the Sweetspot Masters.

Rob Mullen, Managing Director of Sweetspot said: “After the amazing success of our sponsorship at Longhirst Hall we are now delighted to be sponsoring the Sweetspot Masters at Hunley Hotel and Golf Club.

“We witnessed some fantastic golf on a great course in testing conditions at Longhirst and are pleased to be continuing our relationship in the North East with the PGA EuroPro Tour and as such, supporting the development of the players on the Tour.

“We received excellent feedback from the golfers about the Sweetspot product range and we are looking forward to bringing our stamina bars and beans to Hunley Hotel and Golf Club.”

Danny Nickless, Operations Director of the PGA EuroPro Tour said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome Sweetspot back as event sponsors for the second time this season. Their continued support, and that of all our sponsors, is pivotal to the success of the Tour.

“Hunley Hotel and Golf Club hosted a successful and popular event on the Tour last summer and we are thrilled to be returning there this year.”

The three-day event gets underway on Wednesday, September 12 and concludes on Friday, September 14. Spectator entry is free throughout the week and live scoring will be available at
