The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour season continues with the Kingspan Concra Wood Open this week, the first of an Irish double header for Europe’s leading development tour.
The UK and Ireland’s best young pros will be in action at Concra Wood in Castleblayney for the third year running, after the successful staging of the event in 2012 and 2013.
Among the favourites for the event is Irishman Colm Moriarty, who enjoyed two top-five finishes in the five EuroPro Tour events he played last year. The Dublin man is a previous winner on the tour and will tee it up for the first time on the EuroPro this year at Concra Wood.
Niall Kearney, a Challenge Tour regular this summer, is also expected to contend on the final day. The Dubliner came fifth at The Belfry in April, his only previous EuroPro outing this season.
Daniel Godding, Director of Operations at the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour said: “I am delighted to have The Kingspan Concra Wood Open on the EuroPro schedule again this season.
“Over the previous two years the team at Concra Wood have helped us stage superb tournaments and there is no doubt it is a stunning golf course in a beautiful setting.
“The field is wide open this week and I am sure we will see another close event which will make great viewing for both spectators at the course and those watching the highlights on Sky Sports.”
The 54-hole strokeplay event will be filmed for a two-hour highlights package which will air on Sky Sports on Tuesday, August 5. Spectator entry is free throughout the week and live scoring can be found at www.europrotour.com
