Gauthier, from East Berks, equalled the lowest score of the tournament with a 66 in his seccond round to move onto -6.

Gauthier was one of eight amateurs to progress to the Final Stage of Qualifying, with four joining the 126 aspiring young professional in making the final cut.
A total of 46 amateurs with a handicap of two or better entered the PGA EuroPro Tour’s Qualifying School this year, with Gauthier and his compatriots now facing the dilemma of turning full-time professional.
A total of 130 players will play at Bedford on the final day after scoring +7 or better from their two rounds, with the 110 players who failed to make the cut earning Category 12 status on the PGA EuroPro Tour.
Five Dutchmen from the seven who entered made the cut, as did brothers Grant and Ben Willman, who scored -5 and +2 respectively.
Players will hope that the wind which has affected the opening two days abates for the final round on Friday, with gusts bringing in occasional hail and rain storms for the early rounds.
