The PGA EuroPro Tour can today announce that Monday Qualifying will be returning for the 2022 season.
After a successful trial period during the 2021 campaign, each event will be hosting Monday Qualifying bar the final tournament of the season, the Wright-Morgan Championship that will be held at Clevedon Golf Club.
The top 4 from every Monday Qualifying event will be granted permission into the standard, three-day tournament.
What is Monday Qualifying?
Monday qualifiers offer golfers the chance of securing a place in the regular event, which can yield prize money and subsequent Order of Merit standings.
For members of the EuroPro Tour, entrance into the Monday Qualifying will be £75; non-members will be asked to pay a £125 fee.
Those who are successful will then have an important decision to make: either opting for temporary or affiliate membership.
If the temporary option is decided upon, then an additional £50 fee will be required and any winnings will not count towards the seasonal Order of Merit.
An extra fee of £445 will be compulsory if affiliate membership is chosen, but players will qualify for Order of Merit standings.
Through affiliate membership, they will be able to improve their playing category – which can result in qualification for the Matchroom Tour Championship and Challenge Tour playing status.
PGA EuroPro Tour CEO, Dan Godding, noted: “We are thrilled to see Monday qualifiers returning, and we hope to see successful players push on and have an excellent tournament too.
“To be able to offer this service will undoubtedly bolster the tour’s reputation, and it will also offer golfers another chance of chasing their dream – those who fell short at Q-School should be very interested by the reintroduction.”
You must select the PQ option of the events, which is where you’ll secure your tee time for Monday Qualifying.
