Motocaddy Masters reduced to 36 holes

April 25th, 2012

The Motocaddy Masters at Wensum Valley has been reduced to a 36-hole tournament following a day of heavy rain at the Norfolk course.

The opening day of the PGA EuroPro Tour season was first halted at 12:10pm but restarted after a delay of 3hours and 50minutes. However, at 5:45pm the players were once again called in and the decision was made to abandon play for the day.

Due to the amount of time lost, and with further bad weather forecast, the tournament has been reduced from 54 holes to 36. Round One will be completed on Thursday before a cut of the top 50 and ties. The final round will then take place as scheduled on Friday.

Paul Doherty (Vale Hotel) is currently tied at the top of the leaderboard with Dale Marmion (Eaton Golf Club). Both are two shots under par, with Doherty having completed six holes and Marmion three.

Dan Seymour (Newbury Golf Club) had carded a round of five under through 15 before the first rain interruption but dropped four shots on his last three holes. Daniel Gavins (Wheatley Golf Club) and Shane Winstone (Saltford Golf Club) are also one under. Givens is through 12 while Winstone has completed three holes.

Round One will resume at 7:30am on Thursday (April 26). Live scoring will be available at
