Murray 9/1 favourite at Les Bordes Tour Championship

October 20th, 2008

Skybet have made Alan Murray the new favourite to win the Les Bordes Tour Championship on the Ivobank PGA EuroPro Tour after the first round.

Murray (Greystones GC, pictured) shot level par on the testing French course and is one shot behind co-leaders Colin Roope ( and Martin Le Mesurier (Vear Group). The pair both shot fine rounds of 71 and are now 11/1 and 12/1 respectively.

The bookmakers say that Aran Wainwright (DP Publicity) attracted support before the event at 100/1 and he joins Murray at level par and has been slashed to 12/1 to walk away with the £20,000 prize. Jamie Moul (Stoke by Nayland) is also 12/1 and is one of six players at one over (73) – Robert Steele (Kenilworth GC – 28/1), Graham Gordon (SWM Golf Management – 30/1), James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City GC – 22/1), Andrew Oldcorn (Kings Acre – 18/1) and David Clark (Morpeth GC – 28/1).

Damian Mooney is 20/1 after carding a 74 along with Daniel Brooks (Mill Hill – 33/1) and Jason Kelly (Wentworth – 33/1). Order of Merit leader Noel Fox rallied to card three over 75 and is 20/1, with John Parry shooting the same score and now rated as a 28/1 shot.
