The PGA EuroPro Tour is pleased to say we’re providing all our members & volunteers with a reusable bottle as we aim to curb single-use plastic waste on the Tour.
Every member and volunteer will be given a Camelbak bottle branded with the PGA EuroPro Tour logo across the front of it encouraging members to take advantage of water stations that will be set up across courses on the Tour.
Each bottle is BPA, BPS & BPF free with the Tour encouraging all members to refill and reuse.
Dan Godding, Chief Executive Officer of the PGA EuroPro Tour said: “After seeing firsthand the level of plastic bottle wastage on golf courses, it became a personal mission of mine to curb the amount we see on The PGA EuroPro Tour. The bottles we will provide to our members and volunteers are of great quality making it easy for them to be refilled and reused. I believe it’s a great step for the game.”
Each year in the UK alone, 13 billion plastic bottles are bought but only 7.5 billion of those are recycled and a third of all plastic waste in the sea is plastic bottles.
We believe providing members and volunteers with a reusable bottle can help curb the amount of single-use plastic on the Tour. The water stations will provide fresh water taken from the source and it’ll frequently be replenished to ensure it stays cool on warmer days.
We’re encouraging all our members to get involved. Every member will receive their bottle along with the rest of their welcome bag in the coming weeks leading up to the first Tour event at Brocket’s Hall in May.
