The Tour’s penultimate tournament of the season kicks off at Leven Links in Scotland for The Motocaddy Masters from Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 September. It is also the Tour’s second visit of the year to Scotland. The course carries plenty of history as a former Open Qualifying Venue and host of the Leven Links Gold Medal amateur tournament.
This week’s tournament is sponsored by our long-term partners Motocaddy Golf, the world’s top-selling trolley brand. As well as the £12,500 first place, The Motocaddy Masters champion will also get an M5 GPS with Lithium battery and a PRO 3000 Laser; the runner-up receives an M1 with Lithium battery, while the player in third place will also take home a popular PRO 3000 Laser Rangefinder, which in total is over £2,000 worth of prizes.
In addition to the podium prizes available, Motocaddy is also offering a PRO 3000 Laser as part of a special skills-based challenge for the players throughout the event with the winner carding the most birdies/eagles through the three rounds.
The week begins on Monday with the Pre Qualifier and Practice with an exciting Pro-Am lined up for Tuesday before the opening round on Wednesday. Four of the five players from pre-qualifying come from Scotland in the form of Rob Paterson, Gareth Birrell (a), Paul Reilly, Andrew Davidson (a), and England’s Callum Blinkhorn.
Mitch Waite opened up a huge advantage in the 2021 Order of Merit standings after winning by three shots at Studley Wood last week whilst many will be making a dive for the top 60 with only one tournament left of the regular season after this week.
2. Ash Mansell – Links golf suits Mansell down to the ground and was unlucky not to complete the job up at Montrose Golf Links earlier in the season
3. Mitch Waite – You can’t ignore Waite, his last four results are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 1st again
Highlights from The Motocaddy Masters at Leven Links will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday 21, September at 6pm with several other showings scheduled. See the full where to watch guide here.
