The race for spots on next year’s Challenge Tour hots up this week with the tenth event of the PGA EuroPro Tour season.
Only the top five in the EuroPro Tour Order of Merit are guaranteed spots and there are still three places remaining with only a handful of tournaments remaining.
Less than £4,000 separates the players ranked third to seventh in the money list and every pound won could prove crucial.
The latest event – The Lingfield Park Championship 2011 – comes from Surrey and competition will be fierce in the three-day event, which begins on Wednesday, August 10 and concludes on Friday, August 12.
There is £10,000 on offer to the winner so there is still time for any of the golfers to catapult themselves into the Challenge Tour picture.
A number of previous 2011 winners, including Jamie Abbott, Duncan Stewart and Stuart Archibald will be in action.
Graeme Clark and Chris Hanson – the only men guaranteed a spot in the top five at the end of the season, are both playing in Surrey. Hanson will be eager to regain the top spot, which he lost to Clark last week.
All the action will be filmed for television and Matchroom Sport will produce a two-hour highlights package, which will be broadcast on Sky Sports on Wednesday, August 24.
