ONLY 58 players were able to complete their opening round on the first day of The Swallow Hotel Open at the Swallow Suffolk GC in Bury St Edmunds.
Rain halted play at 1.45pm and the second day will now start at 8am in a bid to get as many players back up to speed as possible.
South African Michiel Bothma led the way on seven-under-par with Graham Clark a shot behind but over half the field are yet to complete their opening 18 holes.
