Paul Reed is 8/1 with PGA EuroPro Tour’s official bookmakers to convert his one shot lead in The Brooks Brothers 2009 Classic at Five Lakes Golf, Country Club & Spa in Essex into a victory.
Reed (Bristol & Clifton GC, pictured) shot a five under round of 66 to move into the lead and tees off at 12.13pm with Brian McElhinney (Team Ireland), who is one stroke behind him and 6/1 second favourite. Nicky Harris (Whitefield GC) and Matthew Ford (Marriott Tudor Park) are the 9/2 joint favourites and are two strokes behind Reed at three under, along with Sean Whiffin who is 7/1.
“With a best finish of 29th on the EuroPro Tour in the last three years, I’m sure Paul Reed will be a little anxious as his bids to capture The Brooks Brothers 2009 Classic,” said Sky Bet’s John Rhodes. “A huge 500/1 shot at the outset, he’s still a big looking 8/1 shot to land the title. Nicky Harris and Matthew Ford have to be the men to beat, two back of Reed and are 9/2 joint favourites.”
The final round of the action at Five Lakes begins at 8am tomorrow, with live scoring available via the Score Updates link.
