July 21st, 2021

Jamie Rutherford and Jack Yule hold a share of the lead at Park Wood Golf Club, Westerham Kent, after the opening day of The ORIDA Championship with opening rounds of 64 (-8).

Yule has trended well so far this season making four cuts from six with a round of eight under today came as no surprise. The King’s Lynn golfer performed best on the front nine out of anyone on the golf course going out in 31 with birdies on 2, 3, 4, and 5. He continued the his form on the back nine eventually in the clubhouse with nine birdies to his name and only one blemish.

Jamie Rutherford (Knebworth Golf Club) has been one of the most consistent so far this season and he underlined his aims for the season with his eight under round. Rutherford made the most of Par 5s with a birdie or better on all four on the course whilst remaining steady at the Par 3s at level par.

One back from Rutherford and Yule is John Parry of Harrogate Golf Club. Parry has already won this season at Cumberwell Park and he signed for a seven under round of 65 going out in 32 including being five under thru seven holes.

Paul Nessling (Sedlescombe Golf Club) and Taylor Carter (Hanbury Manor Golf Club) are two back from the lead with both bogey-free for the day. Nessling’s card standing out with the two eagles whilst Carter was solid including an eagle on the Par 5 second hole.
