Last week’s EuroPro Tour winner Duncan Stewart was in form again today as he took the lead at the World Snooker Association Golf Championship with a stunning opening round of 64.
The player from Grantown-on-Spey in Scotland won his first EuroPro Tour event last Friday at the ABC Solutions UK Championship in Crewe, and he’s now on target for back-to-back victories as he heads the field at six under par at the Players Golf Club near Bristol.
The 27-year-old birdied six of the first seven holes, and despite a bogey at the 11th, he regained that shot at the 12th then parred the last six.
Jamie Abbott from Fynn Valley, who came fifth last week, is in second place this time after a five under par round which featured seven birdies.
Three players are tied on four under: Order of Merit leader Chris Hanson, Billy Hemstock and Robert Hurding.
The second round is on Wednesday with the final round on Thursday, when the winner will bank £10,000.
