THREE players opened up a early lead at The PokerMillion.Com Championship by shooting three-under-par opening rounds of 69 on Wednesday.
Darren Charlton, Ben St John and Robert McGuirk set the pace on the first morning of the event, with the latter dropping just one shot during his round.
“I played pretty solidly throughout,” said Princes golfer McGuirk (pictured).
“The rain we had on Wednesday freshened the course up, the greens were lovely and the course was set up perfectly.”
Four players are a shot behind on -2 in the clubhouse, with Nathan Main also two-under par after just five holes of his round.
Five players have already carded a 71 and 11 are on level par, with Graham Rankin (-1 after five holes) and Robert Rock (level after five holes) also standing out from the afternoon starters.
John Wade, the Australian who has won the last two PGA EuroPro Tour events, is two over par after five holes.
A further update will be issued later on Wednesday.
