The PGA EuroPro Tour returns to action this week as the Tour heads to Bovey Castle in Devon.
Starting on Wednesday, the Motocaddy Masters will feature more than 150 players competing in the third event of the 2011 season. There will be £10,000 on offer to the winner and the competition will be fierce at one of the most popular venues of the campaign.
Eight out of the top ten in the Order of Merit will be playing, including Wensum Valley winner Jamie Abbott and Stuart Archibald, who triumphed at Burhill earlier this month.
Chris Hanson, a former winner at Bovey Castle, was hoping to enjoy another successful week.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on the EuroPro this week and looking forward to Bovey Castle. I’m a past winner there back in 2006 and have great memories. I have had a great day of practice and the course is as nice as ever – it’s such a great setting.â€
Sam Watts, who will be playing in his first ever EuroPro Tour event this week after battling through Q School in the spring, was optimistic of performing well in Devon.
He said: “I’ve had a solid week’s practice so quietly confident and ready for the tournament. I am looking forward to Bovey Castle and everyone I’ve spoken to says how nice the place is. I can’t wait to get back to tournament play.â€
Dale Marmion is another who has not experienced Bovey Castle before but relished the opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to it,†added Marmion. “I’ve never played Bovey Castle but I’ve heard it has some interesting holes and I’m playing pretty well so hopefully I’ll get a win.â€
All of the players will play their first round on Wednesday and a second round on Thursday before the top 50 plus ties will advance to the final round on Friday.
