DANIEL GAUNT and Darren Charlton were the early pace-setters at The Stoke by Nayland Club International Open, opening with rounds of 69 on Tuesday.
Australian Gaunt, who represents Wildwood, is once again leading the way to continue his good form on the PGA EuroPro Tour this year.
He is joined at three under par by Tilsworth’s Charlton, who lost to Lee Slattery in a play-off in this event 12 months ago.
Phil Worthington and Paul Curry are a shot behind after opening with rounds of 70, while Russell Claydon, Lewis Atkinson and Michael Searle are sat on -1.
Michael Welch and Inder Van Weerelt are among five players sat on level par, while Tim Butler has made the best impression among the afternoon starters, sitting at -5 following 14 holes.
