Tyrrell Hatton won the Your Golf Travel Classic at Bovey Castle last week after a three-under-par final round of 67 took him to -12 for the week.
He concluded the third event of the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour season three shots ahead of Martin LeMesurier and Stuart Manley, who tied for second after both signed for above-par scores on Friday.
As the Tour moves to Galgorm Castle, Northern Ireland for the Ulster Bank Open this week, we take a look over the facts and figures from Bovey Castle.
In the build-up to the event both last year’s winner Chris Hanson and Bovey Castle head pro Richard Lewis warned that the back nine would prove tricky to negotiate. The stats show that’s exactly how the course played out, with six of the eight highest scoring holes (to par) being on the back nine.
It is little surprise then that the best performer on the back nine throughout the week was winner Hatton, who totalled seven under par over the three rounds.
No golfer achieved more pars or better than Hatton, who only dropped shots on five of the 54 holes. However, it was joint runner-up Martin LeMesurier who broke par on the most occasions. Alongside James Maw he gained shots on 18 holes during the Your Golf Travel Classic.
The hole that proved to be the most fruitful for 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour players at Bovey was the 18th, which saw 135 birdies and 11 eagles over the three rounds. The trickiest hole was the 1st, which as well as seeing 102 bogeys also recorded the highest average score of 0.39 over par.
